TeeShot!

My husband, Duffergeek, recently wrote a golf application for the iPhone.  It's called TeeShot and it lets you keep track of your golf games.  It's a really cool application and he's been getting really good feedback about it.  Today he noticed a large spike in the number of people visiting his website.
"What's up with that?" he wondered.

"I'll bet you got reviewed somewhere," I said.

Sure enough, I was right!

Check out this awesome review at MacWorld.com.  Four mice!

I'm back and we're still rockin'

Chris (aka Duffergeek) is home, down a kidney, and doing fine.  Details at Mutant Kidney

Meanwhile, I am here to posit that in a guitar duel, Peter Frampton would kick Eric Clapton's ass.

Exhibit A (7:34 minutes long, and slow to download...but worth it)

Convinced?  Of course.  I am right.

Now, do me a favor, would ya?  Go vote for Pete at Deep Rock Drive.  Let's get him to come play a live, interactive show on the Internet.

Whammo!

Well, here's a shocker.  We found out yesterday that Chris has renal cancer.  We've started a blog to talk all about it.  Here's the link:  Mutant Kidney.

So, apologies in advance if not much gets written here.  We're kinda busy now.

R.I.P., Jazzy.

Sad news. Our cat Jasmine died last night. Her liver gave out and when we took her to the vet it became clear that she was horribly sick and there wasn't much we could do, so we had to euthanize her. I stayed with her while it happened. I cried and cried. Very hard to make that call. I've never had to do it before. But I hope she's in a better place and I know she's out of pain.

Deep Rock Drive!

Duffergeek, that dashing star of golf course and (computer) screen, has a new job!  After eleven years at Microsoft, he's run off to join the circus. The rock 'n' roll circus, that is.

Presenting:  DEEP ROCK DRIVE, a really cool new concept in entertainment.  The basic premise is this:  You get a minimum of 1,000 people to sign a petition for their favorite band to do a live webcast concert.  If your band agrees, you don't just see the concert (for the low, low price of $6.99), you get to be a part of it!  Help vote on the set list, choose your own camera shots, even chat online with the band!  The beta site is up and it's free to join.  Why don't you go check it out?  Then add ME to your friends list!  I'm "Girl Next Door".  In fact, you can click on my "Fountains of Wayne" digiposter below to access the site!

Thirteen Years Ago, Today

Thirteen years ago, today, the most important thing in my life happened:  I became a mother.

Kate was being a little cranky on the way to her birthday dinner tonight.

"Why are you so grumpy?" I asked.

"Because I'm now, officially, an angsty teen," she said.

"I see.  And how long is this going to last?"

Kate thought for a moment.  "Five years.  And then, I'm going to vote."

That's my baby.
