(Writing this from home...quite tired....apologies in advance for any typos or incoherence....)
Left Chris with his Mom around 5pm. He had just completed his second walk (farther and faster than the first) and I did some foot reflexology on him to help wake up his intestines. (Gurgle, damn you! Gurgle!) I tell ya, I've never been so keen for that man to fart. In fact, until now, I've never been keen for that man to fart.
Have been coming home to flower and cookie bouquets, and dinners prepared by our friends and neighbors. So nice! Thank you, everyone.
Talked to Chris on the phone a while ago and he said Dr. Weissman came in and took the dressing off his incision. "Staple-y!" says Chris. We'll have to count them when I get there tomorrow. Chris says it's a lot more sensitive now without the bandages covering it up.
As of now he is still NPO. He said the doctor heard a few of the faintest murmurs in his guts, but that it would likely be "the day after tomorrow" before he could put anything in there.
WHAT?!?
But then he said that the doctor he was handing Chris off to was more aggressive about having clients eat after procedure so maybe he'll get lucky. Who knows?
OK, signing off for tonight. Sleep beckons.

Awesome, you guys! I am so happy that there were no nasty surprises.

Post op day 3 is usually a big day. Can be a tough one cause that's usually the day that the long awaited gas appears. First it's a big belly ouch, then it finally escapes. Hallelujah! Food follows gas attack, so hang in there.
Was wondering if there is a twelve step program for Blog Addicts because I am rapidly becoming one. I just can't stay away from this dang thing. I have an ongoing need to see how Chris is doing, but also love to see what all the supporters are adding.
Hang tough, Chris. I have a feeling that today is the day.
Note from Warren. He wanted me to tell you that when President Eisenhower was in the hospital following his heart attack, the stock market went up 20 points when news of his first bowel movement reached the press. So we'll all be watching the stock market on Monday!

Could it be that we're anticipating "the fart heard cross the country"?
Keep up the good work Chris - you have us all on pins and needles, but are impressing us with your progress and your attitude (though we expected both of you).

I've had four cesareans so I know all about the catherers, the incisions, the explosive farts that everyone cheers about, the need to walk, and how laughing hurts so much. So glad you are home Chris!
